Corona Clipper company produces a large variety of hedge and garden tools. Their Fusion 11 pruner is the company's first foray into the multi-purpose tool market. It is very similar to the Leatherman Hybrid, quite obviously a copy. Quality of construction seems quite good, although certainly not on par with the Leatherman.
Jaws
Pruner jaws on the Fusion are of the bypass type. Jaw opening is such that branches up to 3/4" (20mm) will fit between them. There is also a soft wire cutting notch at the base of the pruner section. The jaws are spring-loaded. A thumb activated safety lock bar holds them in the closed position when not in use.
Handles/Frame
The Hybrid’s handles have an underlying frame made from a U-shaped channel of stainless steel. Attached to the steel is a contoured set of scales made from high impact black plastic. Overmolding the black plastic are inlays of soft red rubber, positioned where the hand would normally grip. Despite being an inside-opening style tool, the Fusion is not uncomfortable to squeeze hard on.Blades and Tools
