Background

Meyerco represents a combination of creative marketing know-how and innovative knife and tool design. The former is supplied by Bill Meyer, a successful businessman with a personal passion for "interesting" sport knives. Bill founded the company in January of 1997.

The design talent for Meyerco is provided by Walter "Blackie" Collins, perhaps the most prolific and innovative knife designer of all time. A founding member of the Knifemaker's Guild and former owner of Blade Magazine, Blackie holds over 60 utility patents on knife mechanisms and many design patents on cutlery products. Starting in 1975 he has published a number of books on the subject, and continues to be a leading force in the knifemaking community today. Blackie was inducted into the Cutlery Hall of Fame in 1996.
