Caspian Arms Pocketsmith

The Pocketsmith from Caspian Arms is intended to provide all the tools necessary to field strip a 1911-style automatic pistol. Most prominent of these specialized features are the plier jaws, which are uniquely shaped and leave no doubt that this is a specialized tool. Construction of the Pocketsmith left a bit to be desired though, so Caspian Arms quickly followed suit with the Pocketsmith II.

Jaws

The most unique feature of the Pocketsmith tool is the plier head. A cutout form in the jaws is designed to grab onto and loosen the barrel bushing on a 1911 auto pistol. Also included on the plier jaws are a set of crisp serrations running out to the tips, for regular pliering duties. A wire cutter area is down near the pivot, with hard wire notch included.

Handles/Frame

Handles on the Pocketsmith are a simple channel of sheet metal bent into a U-shape. A black layer of rubberized material covers the handles, giving them a somewhat cushioned feel.

The only logo on the tool is the words CASPIAN POCKETSMITH, burned into the plier pivot in a circular pattern.
